Susan Alexander is the Executive/Artistic Director of Higher Praise Dance Academy located in Ferndale, MI on Woodward Ave, where dance classes are being offered and Dance Ministry Workshops. She has a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration from Davenport University with extensive outside training in dance (Ballet & Modern) at Marygrove College.

Ms. Alexander is the author of a book called “How to Develop a Powerful Dance Ministry” a Teacher’s Edition and Student Training Manual. She also wrote a Christian Etiquette Book for young girls. She is married, with 3 children, and continues to minister in dance and manage her school full-time.
Mrs. Alexander has 21 years’ experience in training youth and adults in Praise Dance Ministry. She has organized concerts since 1998, allowing her students to perform and awarding them with trophies and/or certificates of completion. Her classes have been highlighted on UPN Channel 50 News, and the Mind/Body & Soul Section of the Free Press. She has received numerous Community Awards, Spirit of Detroit Award, Christian Arts Award, and Testimonial Resolutions from the County of Wayne and the City of Detroit. She is currently Undergoing/Directing a new organization called NALAD (National Association of Ladies Active in Dance), which is an affiliate of Higher Praise Dance Academy.

Co-Director
Sandria Rush, is the Co- Director of Higher Praise Dance Academy who has her Bachelor Degree in Accounting from Bowling Green State University with a Minor in Dance. She has been dancing since the age of 6 with her mother and choreographed her first dance at the age of 10. She started teaching praise dance for outside churches independent of her mom at the age of 12. She is currently a member of Abundant Life Christian Center, where she serves as a Finance Team Member. God is using her mightily in choreography as she has worked on other performing arts productions, requested to assist other dance ministries, as well as teach dance to youth at youth workshops throughout the metro Detroit area.
