Higher Praise Dance Academy offers a variety of dance instruction from Praise Dance
to Ballroom. Below is a schedule of dance instruction.  Students ages range from 4-years-old to Adult.

First Steps Ballet & Praise

Tuesdays: 4:45 - 5:45 p.m. 
Ages: 4 - 5 years


Students will learn basic ballet steps along with using their imagination through creative movement, dancing off of classical and/or contemporary gospel music.

Youth Ballet & Praise

Saturdays: 11:30 - 12:30 p.m. 
Ages: 6- 9 years


Students will learn the meaning of Praise Dance and what is required to worship the Lord in dance.  Basic Ballet dance skills will be taught along with innovative praise dance routines.

Adult Praise Dance

Thursdays: 5:00 - 6:15 p.m.
Saturdays: 2:30 - 3:30 pm


Students will learn how to look good praise dancing using basic dance skill movements. There will be a time for exercise warm-up and basic dance skill instruction. Students will learn innovative dance routines from contemporary gospel music. Students experience an exciting time praising the Lord during this class.

Dance Ministry School

Saturdays: 9:00 - 11:00 a.m   (March - December)

The school is designed for dance leaders and all who are involved in liturgical and/or praise dance activity.  The classes will consist of lecture, training manual called "How to Develop a Powerful Dance Ministry," and some dance movement. Also, pageantry methods will be taught.  Students will ultimately be awarded a certificate of completion for this class.

    Have you ever wanted to learn basic biblical knowledge of praise dance ministry but could not afford the classes, or the classes were too far for you to drive?  We have just the solution: Basic Dance Ministry Classes offered on-line at a minimal cost.

  • Youth Dance Workshops

    Quarterly - PENDING
    Ages: 12 - 18 years 


    Youth will be motivated to pursue career and educational goals taught by subject matter experts.

  • Traveling Dance Ministry Team

    Mondays: 5:30 - 7:00 pm

    If you are interested in being a part of a dance ministry team that travels throughout metro Detroit and you are at least 17 years old, please call us at 313-262-6933 to schedule your audition.

Student & Teacher Manuals

​The Student Training Manual is specifically for classroom instruction. 
​The Teacher Training Manual is currently SOLD OUT.

If leaders are unable to be a student in the Dance Ministry Class, it is recommended that they attend a one-day Facilitator Training workshop.  This workshop will prepare the leaders on how to effectively teach from the Student Training Manual.  The Cost for the manual is $17.  Should you want information to attend a Facilitator’s Training Workshop, please send your request via e-mail to HigherPraiseDance@gmail.com. 

 

Pricing & Fees

 
  • An annual $15 registration fee is required for all student enrollments 
  • Most classes are $45 per month
  • Dance Ministry Class - $450.00 for 9 months
  • Ballroom Dance Lessons - $55.00 for 7 weeks
  • Intermediate Dance Class - $48 per month
  • Traveling Dance Ministry Team - $250 per year
  • Low Income rates are available for youth only
